How To Re-pot A Plant?

Reporting the plant does not mean you are just changing the plant pot. You are changing its soil. New soil means more nutrients which can refresh our plant. If you love your old plant so you can re-pot it so it can grow properly. I chose a large pot

The reason for reporting your plant is the short old pot, so you select the new pot, which is about 2-inch more extensive than the old one. Make sure your new pot should be broader and more profound.  Your pot should have a drainage hole, so your plant doesn’t sit in water which causes rotting in a plant.

Cover the drainage

Cover the hole with a coffee filter to allow the extra water to pass out and prevent soil from falling through it.

If you are using a mud pot so soak it overnight because it absorbs the water, which can be drier to your plant.

Layer soil in the pot

Before putting your plant in the soil, add a bottom layer of soil so plant roots can grow in new soil and plant have extra space to grow.

Watering the plant

Water your plant before changing the pot because it keeps it more healthy and refreshes the plant.

Remove the plant from its old pot

Loosen the plant in the pot by putting or rotating it in different directions and tap the pot.

Turn the upside-down while keeping your hand on the top and allow the plant to lose. Use a knife to separate the pot and plant.

Cutting the extra roots

Cut the roots which are growing out from the root ball. It helps to grow the plant faster and refreshes the plant. After cutting the extra-long and unwanted roots plant is ready to grow outward.

Keep the plant in the new pot

Keep the plant in the center of the pot and press it in its new home, add more soil, and water the plant so it settles with new soil.
